It’s 1984 and legendary bartender and mixologist, Dick Bradsell, the man who would change the face of the London cocktails scene forever, has been asked by a supermodel for a cocktail that will ‘wake me up’. Luckily for Dick, the newly installed coffee machine was right next to the bar. In a ‘lightbulb ‘ moment he combined freshly brewed Espresso with Vodka and the Espresso Martini was born!

British sailors stationed in the Caribbean were given daily rations of rum. To make it more palatable (and to ward off scurvy), they mixed it with citrus juices, sugar, and a splash of spice. Over time, the recipe evolved, incorporating local spirits and flavours - giving rise to countless variations, including Rum Punch.
The name? It is believed to have originated from the name of the large wooden cask called a “puncheon” which was used to transport the drink.
